Poco Deli: a little deli store in Kapitolyo

Corned beef and bacon slabs at a small deli in Kapitolyo, reportedly a favourite of the late President Noynoy Aquino.

It was an ordinary day when we suddenly thought of visiting one of our favourite places in Pasig: Barangay Kapitolyo.

Kapitolyo

Kapitolyo is a street full of restaurants and food stores, a go-to place if you like trying different dishes and drinks. Unlike Maginhawa, it’s close to the city’s business districts, so it’s easy to get to after work.

Poco Deli

As we walked around we spotted a small store called Poco Deli. It reminded us of Galileo Enoteca in Mandaluyong (lots of wine and cold cuts), just much smaller. We ordered the corned beef and the bacon slabs, and both were juicier and tastier than what we’re used to. No wonder the late President Noynoy Aquino was said to dine here often.

Tip

Go hungry and share: order a couple of the meats and some bread, and make it a picnic-style dinner.
